Check the Forecast: Avoid walking during peak storm periods. Use weather apps to plan safer times – If a Red warning is issued stay at home and follow local advice.
Flood-Prone Areas: Steer clear of low-lying paths and fields that may flood quickly.
Fallen Trees & Debris: High winds can bring down branches—stick to open, well-maintained routes.
Slippery Surfaces: Rain, ice, and mud increase the risk of slips. Wear footwear with good grip and keep dogs under control.
Visibility: Dark skies and heavy rain mean reflective gear for dogs and owners is essential.

Snow Hazards: Check paws for ice build-up between pads.
Avoid salted roads—rinse paws after walks to prevent irritation.
Shorten walks in deep snow to prevent exhaustion and frostbite.
Wind Hazards: Keep dogs on a short lead to prevent them being spooked or blown into danger.
Avoid exposed areas like hilltops where wind chill is severe.
